We've come to a few very basic understandings about paranormal phenomenon. The first one and most important being;

There is no explanation for what a ghost is.

There is absolutely no unquestionable evidence that provides us with an answer to one of life?s greatest mysteries, what happens to the conscious after the body expires? There is also no solid evidence that supports the theory that the ?ghost phenomenon? is manifestations of those who have passed away. We have many theories about what these experiences could be, but no one knows for sure.

The second most important thing we've come to understand is this;

99.9% of all paranormal occurrences can be explained by natural events.

The other 00.1% however? That's what keeps groups like TOPS excited about doing what we do.

The paranormal is still considered a pseudoscience to mainstream scientific researchers. To change this, the individuals doing the research must ensure their methods and ideologies conform to the science community?s standards. TOPS is trying to move toward a more scientific approach to investigating and we urge other groups in the paranormal community to do so as well. This is not an easy thing to do and has been a very difficult learning process, but we?re moving forward all the same.,,We strive everyday to learn as much as we can about this phenomenon. By using equipment of a theoretical nature, interviews with witnesses, documenting trends, and a lot of educating ourselves we hope to come to a better understanding about supernatural occurrences. Hopefully through educating ourselves we can help provide the resources for our community to do the same.

We do have fun exploring the other side, as it can be a very rewarding and satisfying hobby. But at the same time we have a great respect for the professionals of this field and honor their dedication by following their example and conducting ourselves in a professional manner. We do not have PhD?s in Parapsychology, only the knowledge that we have gained by educating ourselves through those individual?s work and research and the research that we have done in the short time TOPS has been in existence.

We are a completely non-profit group meaning our services are free of charge. The confidentiality set by our clients is a number one concern. Any information that you do not want to be known publicly will be privileged only to the members of The Otherside Paranormal Society for research purposes only.
