| First established in 1961, the Psychical Research Foundation (PRF) is a non-profit organization devoted to research and education in the field of parapsychology (the scientific study of ostensible psychic experiences). It actively conducts empirical and field studies on various types of psychic phenomena, with particular emphasis on the study of phenomena which seem to have a bearing on the question of life after death. Such phenomena include apparitions ("ghosts"), hauntings, mediumship, and near-death experiences. Collective evaluation is made of the various psychological, physical, and parapsychological factors which may be involved in each individual case. Initial assessment of reported cases is typically made via e-mail or telephone, with the possibility of a discrete field investigation made on-site at the consent of the people involved. There is no charge for any investigation made. Referrals are accepted on a case-to-case basis. | |
